Our raw Mangosteen powder is loaded with powerful antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic compounds. Scientific research shows that Mangosteen contains a class of naturally occurring polyphenol compounds known as xanthones. These xanthones are found in the ripe dark purple rind (called pericarp) of the fruit. The rind of partially ripe Mangosteen fruit yields a polyhydroxy-xanthone derivative termed mangostin, also beta-mangosteen. Fully ripe fruits contains the xanthones gartanin, beta-disoxygartanin and normangostin.

According to research reported in professional journals such as Free Radical Research and the Journal of Pharmacology, these amazing Xanthones have a remarkably beneficial effect on cardiovascular health. They also have properties which help to heal cells damaged by free radicals, slow aging and ward off degenerative diseases and physical and mental deterioration. Xanthones also demonstrate the most powerful antioxidantive properties found in nature as well as being naturally antibiotic, antiviral and anti-inflammatory.
For hundreds of years the people of Southeast Asia have used the Mangosteen, especially the rind (called the pericarp) to ward off and treat infections, reduce pain, control fevers and boost weakened immune systems. The pericarp can also be made into an ointment and applied to eczema and other skin disorders. Many of the other health benefits of xanthones from the Mangosteen can be expressed in terms of how they act against various ailments.
